Rev. Steve Rasmussen
Steve is from Indiana originally, and moved to Florida after retiring from the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church in 2014. Steve was married to Becky in August of 1974, and they have a daughter named Jaime. He served 40 years in Indiana, with two churches as a student pastor, and six different appointments as an elder. While serving churches in Indiana, he also served as Junior High Section Chair for Camping for eight years, and directed Junior High Athletic Camps for 11 years. Steve served as chair of the Health and Welfare Committee, the liaison committee for the Conference with the institutions within the Conference Boundaries. He served on the Board of Directors for The Franklin Home, a retirement community of The Indiana United Methodist church for 10 years. He also served on the Credit Union Board of Directors for the South Indiana Conference as chair, and then on the Indiana Credit Union Board of Directors to the Indiana UMC Credit Union following the merger of the two Conferences. Steve retired a second time after serving as pastor at First United Methodist Church Palmetto, Florida, for eight years. Effective August 2023, Deborah Allen, Florida South West District Superintendent has asked Steve to serve as interim pastor at Manatee LIFE Church, Bradenton.
